Due to the municipality reform of Denmark 1st January 2007 when the Danish counties were abolished, Copenhagen metropolitan area now consists of the Capital Region (except Bornholm), the municipalities of Greve, Køge, Lejre, Roskilde and Solrød in the former Roskilde County and also Stevns Municipality.
